This week, our Farmers & Distillers team once again joined forces with some of DC’s finest chefs, bartenders, and sommeliers at the Taste of the Nation event, all with one common mission: to support No Kid Hungry and their workto end childhood hunger in America.
Each year, Taste of the Nation hosts fundraising events across the U.S. to raise much-needed support to help ensure that our nation’s children get the healthy food and nutrition they ought to, every day. We were honored to represent our scratch-made, farmer-owned food and drink concept that is Farmers & Distillers at the National Building Museum for this year’s festivities.
Chef Nick and Chef Eric (pictured) served up a house favorite, our Good All Green salad with a couple special additions: a tasty, Farmers feta cheese and some plancha-spiced chicken. Event goers followed the delicious aroma of our chef’s plancha-spiced chicken and were delighted with the added layer of flavor it gave our Good All Green salad of mixed greens, broccolini, avocado, green apple, green beans, and toasted seeds, topped with a fresh lemon vinaigrette. Our special, salty Farmers cheese sprinkled on top was a brined Feta imported directly from Greece just for the event. Our salad, which was gluten-free and modified on the spot for dairy-free and vegetarian revelers, was a big hit… and so was our table. Our chefs loved serving all of the guests who returned for more.
For those who enjoyed our offering at DC’s Taste of the Nation, come by Farmers & Distillers for another taste, as our Good All Green salad is available every day on our Lunch & Dinner menu.
