Mixing & Bubbling Our Craft Vodka at Turn Up the Heat

Farmers & Distillers joined more than 50 female chefs and mixologists in downtown DC for Turn Up the Heat, a night of tastings for one important cause, the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.

Our team, led by bartender Carly Barsalou, mixed and served one of our favorite Farmers & Distillers cocktails featuring our very own craft vodka. Bubbles & Berries combines our Founding Spirits Vodka with blackberry, lemon, cognac, Curaçao, and Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut. This slightly bubbly craft cocktail is light, a bit sweet, and very refreshing.

With over 400 attendees, Turn Up the Heat is a unique event showcasing women mixologists and chefs in the DC region. The gala proceeds help fund groundbreaking ovarian cancer private research grants, advocacy efforts, and support programs for patients and their families affected by this disease.

Every 24 minutes a woman is diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the U.S. The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance is the leading ovarian cancer research, advocacy, and patient support organization in the world. They are the largest, non-government funder of ovarian cancer research. They are the primary voice for the ovarian cancer community on Capitol Hill and beyond. They also direct a Woman to Woman support program, which pairs newly diagnosed patients with trained survivor volunteers.

Our Spirits Straight Up, Straight To Your Door

We have big news just in time for the holidays: You can now order some of our spirits online! And they can be shipped directly to your door or shipped to the door of a friend, family member, or colleague just in time for the gift-giving season.

Currently, we are shipping four of our handcrafted spirits directly from our distillery, Founding Spirits in Washington, D.C. This includes our Founding Spirits Vodka, Founding Spirits American Whiskey, Founding Farmers Rye Whisky, and Founding Farmers Gin.

Founding Spirits is a micro-batch distillery custom-built in the heart of our restaurant, Farmers & Distillers. Led by our dynamic duo, Jon Arroyo and Bob VanLancker, Founding Spirits is an extension of our from-scratch, source-matters mission. We are creating a growing collection of small-batch spirits distilled and blended to preserve the true flavors that come from the wheat, barley, rye, and botanicals grown on family farms across the country.

If you have yet to experience our spirits, please stop by Farmers & Distillers, or its sibling restaurants Founding Farmers or Farmers Fishers Bakers, for a taste. We have a delightful variety of craft cocktails made specifically to highlight our spirits.

When ordering online, please note that only adults 21 or older can make the order, and an adult of 21 or older needs to be present to sign for the delivery. Shipping is $8 for a single bottle, and an additional $2 for each bottle after that, but shipping is absolutely FREE for six or more bottles.

Cheers! Here’s to a very spirited holiday season from Farmers Restaurant Group.

*NOTE – Spirits cannot ship to the following states: Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia.

Our Brunch is a Great Way to Celebrate Dad

Join Farmers Restaurant Group this weekend to celebrate dads and all that they do. Each of our restaurants will be serving our amazing brunch, regularly named as the best in the city by locals, including Washingtonian Magazine readers and the Washington City Paper.

Founding Farmers Tysons in Tysons, VA, Farmers Fishers Bakers at Georgetown’s Washington Harbour, and Farmers & Distillers in Mt Vernon Square will be serving our Farmers Market Buffet Brunch, which is definitely celebratory fare. We have comforting breakfast favorites for the more traditional brunch lovers, such as buttermilk pancakes and bacon and a butcher’s table with a host of choices for meat lovers. We also have lighter luxuries with a gardener’s table ripe with an array of salads. This buffet brunch includes amazing treats hand-carried by our servers to your table including cracker crusted shrimp, eggs benedict, and house-made doughnuts. The cost of this festival of food ranges slightly from restaurant to restaurant, but is about $30 for adults and half or less for kids.

Founding Farmers DC and MoCo’s Founding Farmers, in Potomac, MD have a sit-down, a la carte style service that includes traditional breakfast fare made our way, such as French toast using our house-made bread and buttermilk pancakes always made from scratch. Our tasty poached egg hashes are always a crowd pleaser and some undeniable menu favorites are our unforgettable specialty glazed, thick-cut bacons. Seriously, this is the best bacon your dad may ever have. Prices vary by item.

The food isn’t all dad will love. Our delicious Compass Coffee First Bake Blend is designed and roasted especially for our restaurants. If you and your Father’s Day celebrators are feeling particularly festive, our craft made cocktails are available, including one of the best Bloody Mary’s in town, according to Washington City Paper. We also have Whimsical Shared Cocktails at Farmers & Distillers or if you head to Farmers Fishers Bakers, you can try our Fisher’s Tikis.

Finally, if you want your dad to leave with a great gift, our latest restaurant, Farmers & Distillers is also home to our distillery, Founding Spirits, where we handcraft some of our proprietary beverages. Our latest Founding Spirits American Whiskey, our Founding Spirits Vodka, and our Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro are all available for sale by the bottle. Also available for purchase: our Founding Farmers Rye Whisky and our Founding Farmers Gin.

So, come join us! Treat dad this Father’s Day to one of the best brunches in town. We recommend making a reservation.
