Farmers & Distillers, and our award-winning, in-house Founding Spirits distillery, was featured in a recent article in one of the craft spirit industry’s top publications, the Whisky Advocate.
Named in “The Best Distillery Dining,” the magazine featured Farmers & Distillers sustainably-sourced and scratch-made food and drink. They highlighted the steak choices on our menu, featuring our Twice-Cooked Beef Tenderloin paired with our Never Bitter Julep, made with our Founding Spirits American Whiskey and Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro.
Whisky Advocate also told its readers not to miss our “boozy, spicy, with a hint of sweet” Suffering Candidate, which is included in their “Come for the Food, Stay for the Whisky” roundup. Made with our Founding Spirits American Whiskey, our Suffering Candidate blends our FF Rye Whisky and FF Gin, distilled with our partners at Copper Fox Distillery and finished right here at Farmers & Distillers Founding Spirits, with lemon, ginger, and cane syrup, served on pebbled ice with mint and candied ginger.
See if you agree with Whisky Advocate that Farmers & Distillers is one of the best in distilling dining. Get a taste of our Suffering Candidate, available at our bar, along with other handmade craft cocktails, like our F&D Mule made with our Founding Spirits Vodka or our Amaro Daiquiri featuring our Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro. Stay for a meal. If possible, we recommend making reservations.
You can also take a tour of our distillery available on Saturdays by reservation or walk-in (pending availability). Each tour accommodates up to eight guests and includes: six spirit tastings, a cocktail, and tasty pairings with our famous F&D food items.
Founding Spirits can also be purchased in person at Farmers & Distillers, through multiple local retailers, and ordered online.
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Farmers & Distillers will be dolling out our delicious, scratch-made Eggnog, available by the glass and by the bottle.
Our special Christmas Eggnog can be enjoyed on its own or in cocktail form, with our very own Founding Spirits. Our Eggnog cocktail is made in-house, in very small batches, with pasteurized eggs, cream, milk, sugar, our special spice blend, a little vanilla extract, and the perfect pour of our four-time award-winning Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro and Founding Spirits American Whiskey. The bitter notes from the amaro and the high proof of the whiskey cut the sweetness and make for a light, delicious holiday cocktail. We think it is absolutely the best Christmas cocktail in town.
For those wanting to enjoy it at home, we are also selling a bottled To Go version of our Christmas Eggnog (without alcohol) for the whole family to enjoy. If some want the added spirits, you can purchase bottles of our craft spirits – both the Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro and Founding Spirits American Whiskey, as well as our award-winning Founding Spirits Vodka at Farmers & Distillers.
Our holiday Eggnog, by the glass and the bottle, are only available as long as supplies last. Stop by and enjoy our Christmas treat and bring a little cheer into this year’s holiday season with Farmers & Distillers Eggnog.

Yesterday, Founding Spirits announced our award-winning amaro is available for purchase within our restaurant and online.
After winning three big awards this year, Founding Spirits upgraded production levels to share our Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro beyond the walls of our restaurants.
Available on its own and in craft cocktails at Farmers & Distillers, as well as sibling restaurants, Founding Farmers and Farmers Fishers Bakers, our Amaro is a tasty, distinctive take on this very special spirit developed to appeal to spirit lovers everywhere.
Stop by Farmers & Distillers for a taste. It is a guest favorite in our Amaro Daiquiri and featured in our take on the famous Negroni Swizzle. Many enjoy it on its own as a deliciously smooth before or after dinner drink.
If you like it, buy a bottle to take home to your own bar. We think it will make a perfect addition for your next party, whether in a pre-gathering cocktail, alongside a meal, or as an after-dinner treat. If you can’t get to Farmers & Distillers, order a bottle online at FoundingSpirits.com.
We also invite you to come into Farmers & Distillers for a sneak peek of not only how our amaro is distilled in-house, but also learn about our passion for distilling and our process by booking a Founding Spirits Tour & Tasting.
Founding Spirits received three major international distilling awards at the American Distilling Institute’s (ADI) 2018 Craft Spirits Conference: a GOLD medal for our Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro, a BRONZE medal for our Founding Spirits Vodka, and ADI’s Best of 2018 win in the Certified Craft Blended Spirit category.
To our restaurant guests, our spirits have become well-known and beloved by many on our drinks menu. Our craft vodka is a favorite in our Cucumber Delight and our amaro brings its “never bitter” interest to the Negroni Swizzle. We are all thrilled to be recognized beyond our walls for how we have taken our company’s scratch-made mission and craft cocktail wizardry into distilling some very tasty and apparently award-winning spirits. We think this is a pretty big deal for our barely-a-year-old distillery.
Known as The Voice of Craft Distilling, every year the ADI hosts a Judging of Craft Spirits, which includes U.S. and international entries in a range of categories. In addition to being named ADI’s Best of 2018, our Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro won GOLD in the Certified Craft Blended Spirit category for an herbal/botanical/spice liqueur; and our Founding Spirits Vodka won BRONZE in the Certified Distilled Spirit vodka category.
Our Founding Spirits team was excited to venture west to Portland, OR to receive these prestigious awards. They had the opportunity to meet and share distilling tales with craft distillers from across the globe. This included a lot of discussions about the latest and greatest in distilling, and of course, a bit of sipping and sampling too.
The American Distilling Institute is dedicated to running rigorous and professional spirit judging that strives to promote craft distillers and blenders that are producing the finest quality, artisan spirits and to give participating producers valuable, unbiased, third-party feedback on the quality and process of their spirits. Their annual judging program accepts entries in all classes and categories of craft spirits from small, independently owned distillers, blenders, bitters makers, and producers of aperitif and fortified wines. U.S. and international entries are tasted blind and evaluated by expert panels of judges made up of distillers, journalists, bar owners, bartenders, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and importers. All spirits entered receive written tasting notes and are considered for awards both for the spirit itself and the packaging.
