Celebrating the Shiny New Apple Store with Decadent Apple Donuts

This Saturday, May 11th, marks the opening of DC’s long awaited, flagship Apple store at the historic Carnegie Library, located just blocks from Farmers & Distillers.

Great news for locals and tourists alike, the shiny new Apple store, named the Apple Carnegie Library, is the result of a two-year restoration of our DC landmark – the Carnegie Library – creating a reimagined, modern center for learning. In addition to continuing to provide the innovative products and services that would make Apple founder and legend Steve Jobs proud, our new Apple store was designed as a space “where everyone is welcome.” In addition to a built-in DC History Center, the Apple Carnegie Library will host ongoing exhibits and programs designed to inspire and educate, including a StoryMakers Festival beginning on May 18th where local artists, photographers, filmmakers, digital artists, musicians, and more will be on hand to share their craft. The Apple Carnegie Library schedules will change daily.

A five-minute walk (or less) to Farmers & Distillers, we are welcoming our new Apple store to the neighborhood with a very special F&D Apple Donut. Inspired to celebrate all things Apple and the historic grandeur of the Carnegie Library, Chef Joe and our Pastry Chef, Chandler Raffa, crafted a decadent donut with the perfect balance of sweetness and spice. Maple-glazed on the outside, with a hit of red-hot cinnamon apple cream on the inside, we think it is the perfect way to welcome our new Apple friends and customers.

And the best part? Our Farmers & Distillers Apple donuts are FREE for Apple store shoppers!

So, if you have plans to check out the new Apple store anytime between Saturday, May 11th through Sunday, May 19th, walk the few blocks over to Farmers & Distillers, show us your Apple Carnegie Library receipt, and get our red-hot Apple Donut for free.

We’re open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or our decadent Farmers Market Buffet Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. As always, we recommend making a reservation.

Great American Food & Donuts for Opening Day at Nationals Park

Avoid the throngs of fans near Nationals Park this year as the Washington Nationals take on the New York Mets on Opening Day, March 28th. Instead, come by Farmers & Distillers before or after the big game for some of the best American food and drink that DC has to offer.

Our burgers are the best in town, and there are so many choices. Try our All-American Double Cheeseburger or a complete meal of Baby Macs, Shake & Fries or our popular IMPOSSIBLE Burger, made entirely from plants for people who love meat.

If you don’t want a burger, try some of our other scratch-made, American family favorites, such as our Farm Breads and chicken wings, Handmade Pasta and Steak House classics, as well as our FF Fish, Chips & Beer dish served with a short white beer for a great sampling of our incredible, 24-tap beer program. Our Whirley Pop Kettle Corn will surely give you a taste for the ballpark. We will also have very special Opening Day Farmers Donuts. Or if you want to wrap up your meal with some traditional American treats, try our delicious Cherry or Caramel Apple pie, complete with our hand-churned vanilla ice cream.

We are in it to win it at Farmers & Distillers this Washington Nationals Opening Day. From the food and drink to sidelining the crowds and long waits to the easy commute to and from the ballpark. We recommend making a reservation to ensure a hassle-free, great time.

Park easily in the lot near Farmers & Distillers and walk the two blocks to the green line at the Gallery Place Chinatown stop and metro over to the stadium or come see us after the big game.

If you can’t make it for Opening Day, there are many other games to take in this baseball season, and Farmers & Distillers is a great way take in some pre- or post-game fun, without all the guff.
