“This Place is BEAUTIFUL,” Says One of Atlanta’s Real Housewives

Farmers & Distillers was featured in the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the blockbuster reality TV show that has been running on Bravo for over a decade.

Episode 9 of their 11thseason – “A Mother’s Love” – first aired on December 30th and features supermodel Cynthia Bailey taking her daughter, Noelle, to college at Howard University. Their final farewell meal takes place after the Howard University pinning ceremony at none other than Farmers & Distillers.

The reality show’s stars enjoyed our scratch sodas, Seafood & Green FS Vodka Sauce, our version of the plant-based Impossible Burger, which The Washington Post has called “downright delicious,” and a Farmers & Distillers dish Bailey called “steak-fried chicken,” which turns into a funny conversation between Bailey and Noelle’s father, Leon Robinson, because it is actually our popular Chicken-Fried Steak.

Of course, we knew the show was going to be airing at some point and helped the Bravo production team set up the shoot, but we couldn’t be happier with how much they loved Farmers & Distillers, the ambiance, as well as the food and drink. It was fun for all of us to see and hear.

Check out the entire show or fast-forward to the 37-minute mark to see our Real Housewives four+ minutes of fame and hear the stunning Bailey say, “This place is BEAUTIFUL.”

AND of course, stop by to see if you agree and replicate The Real Housewives meal or make your own selections from our menu. If possible, we recommend making a reservation.

Farmers & Distillers and Founding Spirits Featured in the Whisky Advocate

Farmers & Distillers, and our award-winning, in-house Founding Spirits distillery, was featured in a recent article in one of the craft spirit industry’s top publications, the Whisky Advocate.

Named in “The Best Distillery Dining,” the magazine featured Farmers & Distillers sustainably-sourced and scratch-made food and drink. They highlighted the steak choices on our menu, featuring our Twice-Cooked Beef Tenderloin paired with our Never Bitter Julep, made with our Founding Spirits American Whiskey and Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro.

Whisky Advocate also told its readers not to miss our “boozy, spicy, with a hint of sweet” Suffering Candidate, which is included in their “Come for the Food, Stay for the Whisky” roundup. Made with our Founding Spirits American Whiskey, our Suffering Candidate blends our FF Rye Whisky and FF Gin, distilled with our partners at Copper Fox Distillery and finished right here at Farmers & Distillers Founding Spirits, with lemon, ginger, and cane syrup, served on pebbled ice with mint and candied ginger.

See if you agree with Whisky Advocate that Farmers & Distillers is one of the best in distilling dining. Get a taste of our Suffering Candidate, available at our bar, along with other handmade craft cocktails, like our F&D Mule made with our Founding Spirits Vodka or our Amaro Daiquiri featuring our Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro. Stay for a meal. If possible, we recommend making reservations.

You can also take a tour of our distillery available on Saturdays by reservation or walk-in (pending availability). Each tour accommodates up to eight guests and includes: six spirit tastings, a cocktail, and tasty pairings with our famous F&D food items.

Founding Spirits can also be purchased in person at Farmers & Distillers, through multiple local retailers, and ordered online.

Enjoy Our Scratch-Made, Creamy & Delicious Eggnog

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Farmers & Distillers will be dolling out our delicious, scratch-made Eggnog, available by the glass and by the bottle.

Our special Christmas Eggnog can be enjoyed on its own or in cocktail form, with our very own Founding Spirits. Our Eggnog cocktail is made in-house, in very small batches, with pasteurized eggs, cream, milk, sugar, our special spice blend, a little vanilla extract, and the perfect pour of our four-time award-winning Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro and Founding Spirits American Whiskey. The bitter notes from the amaro and the high proof of the whiskey cut the sweetness and make for a light, delicious holiday cocktail. We think it is absolutely the best Christmas cocktail in town.

For those wanting to enjoy it at home, we are also selling a bottled To Go version of our Christmas Eggnog (without alcohol) for the whole family to enjoy. If some want the added spirits, you can purchase bottles of our craft spirits – both the Founding Spirits Arroyo’s “Never Bitter” Amaro and Founding Spirits American Whiskey, as well as our award-winning Founding Spirits Vodka at Farmers & Distillers.

Our holiday Eggnog, by the glass and the bottle, are only available as long as supplies last. Stop by and enjoy our Christmas treat and bring a little cheer into this year’s holiday season with Farmers & Distillers Eggnog.

A Perfect DC December Night

Enjoying The Washington Ballet’s spectacular performance of The Nutcracker is a great way to add a little more Christmas spirit to this year’s holiday season. For many Washington, D.C. area residents and visitors, it is an important annual tradition.

Farmers & Distillers is a short distance away from the historic downtown Warner Theater that now hosts what has become DC’s most celebrated local ballet performance. Joining us for a bite before the show is a great way to extend your holiday fun. Or, perhaps even better, stopping by afterwards for a drink, dessert, and some time to talk about this amazing, classic storytelling, and DC-centric dance performance, may make for a perfect DC December night.

At Farmers & Distillers, our inspiration has always been George Washington. Evident across our restaurant, from our menu to our art, our love for our first president and all of our founding fathers and farmers is relevant to us every day, but it is also a great connection to this iconic, DC version of The Nutcracker.

While The Washington Ballet has been performing The Nutcracker for decades, in 2004, the company premiered a new, all-American version by then Artistic Director Septime Webre, designed just for Washington, D.C. The audience is transported back in time to a Georgetown mansion where party guests include Frederick Douglass, John Paul Jones, Harriet Tubman, Ben Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson, with General Washington as the heroic Nutcracker.

And where better to extend your DC holiday celebrations with this particular take on The Nutcracker other than Farmers & Distillers?

We hope you will join us. Please be aware reservations are recommended, but not required. Tickets to this unique take on a holiday classic, DC’s very own The Nutcracker, are available online.
